Plenty of EvE players, including many in HBC and some in CFC (tho not very many), wishes a clash between the two undisputed EvE null-sec giants : HBC and CFC.The reasoning ranged from “we can beat Goons” to “let’s have spaceships fireworks” and “at least this will revitalize the null”.
Lots of players (the ones who lack intelligence or simply have no idea how about null) were sure that a conflict is about to start after Monty rage.Some other players (most part of CFC and old vets) realized that it is either a smoke screen or the conflict is still weeks if not months away.It takes one to only look at the last 6 months to realize that HBC is not in the position to start a real conflict with CFC.And it takes one to look at the last 2 years to streghten the above fact.
How did the two fared until now?
CFC is much more experienced in null warfare.They have years of sov gain and sov lost behind them, plenty of spies, lots of diplomacy.HBC, while having plenty of experienced players, as a whole, they not so experienced.Not to mention that without CFC, they would still be in Fountain.Without PL, they would still be a short lived blob without experienced FCs.
It took CFC 3 months to beat NCdot…but it took HBC 6 monthss to beat AAA.Based on that alone, CFC still fares better.If CFC wouldn’t have helped HBC to take over Delve and Querios, HBC would have a short history.The moon income of CFC is counted in years, while HBC one is only one year long.It is not rocket science to assume that CFC supercapital power is at least 2 times bigger, if not bigger.
The reason WHY this war didn’t started yet, it’s mainly because HBC ’s leaders, except Montolio.They realize one simple fact : it is too SOON.Nulli and NCdot are still waging war against SOLAR.Red Alliance still expands.The Stain alliances, while against both HBC and CFC, are closer to HBC space : much easier to take and hold space.Not to mention that they have a grudge against TEST.INIT and Raiden cannot be really counted on, for various reasons, main being that the both are not happy with pet status.
Another fact, that is equally important is Pandemic Legion.While in the context of null warfare PL is not big enough, along HBC they can match CFC, however with 50-50 chances to lose plenty of capitals and moons without gaining enough back as fast as needed to support the war against CFC.In a war of attrition, CFC have the upper hand…not to mention that Delve, Querios and PB are NOT in CFC plans to be invaded and rented.It will be a war where HBC will have to go on offensive, risking their OWN space.
The only way CFC can be actually beaten is a greater coallition of HBC, PL, N3 and others…AFTER the SOLAR space is secured .Strategicaly, there is no point whatsoever for PL to risk their moons in north or for N3 to join the crusade BEFORE securing enough space to be happy with (that means SOLAR out of the cards)…and absolutely no reason for HBC to leave their space unprotected against Stain dwellers….because if they wanna beat CFC, they need to go all in.
There are plenty of clearly reasons why a HBC vs CFC war cannot take place now.And enough unknown ones.
